Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, who later became known as Osho, was an Indian mystic, guru, and spiritual teacher. Here is an overview of his life and teachings:

Early Life: Rajneesh Chandra Mohan Jain was born on December 11, 1931, in Kuchwada, a small village in India. He later adopted the name "Acharya Rajneesh."

Spiritual Journey: Rajneesh was a charismatic and controversial figure who gained a following in the 1960s and 1970s. He was a prolific speaker and writer, and his teachings covered a wide range of topics, including meditation, spirituality, consciousness, and self-awareness.

Dynamic Meditation: Osho is perhaps best known for his development of various meditation techniques, with "Dynamic Meditation" being one of the most famous. This active meditation involves vigorous physical activity, deep breathing, and a phase of silence, designed to help individuals release pent-up emotions and achieve a state of meditation.

Communes: Osho established several spiritual communities, often referred to as "communes" or "ashrams," in India and other countries, where his followers could live and practice his teachings. The most famous of these was the Rajneeshpuram commune in Oregon, USA.

Controversies: Osho's teachings and lifestyle choices, as well as the activities of his followers, often generated controversy. The Rajneeshpuram commune, in particular, faced legal and social challenges, including conflicts with local authorities and legal troubles for Osho himself.

Renaming as Osho: In 1989, Rajneesh officially changed his name to Osho. He explained that "Osho" was derived from the Japanese word "o," meaning "with," and "sho," meaning "grace." He believed the name signified a state of open awareness and meditation.

Death: Osho passed away on January 19, 1990, in Pune, India, at the age of 58.

Legacy: Osho left behind a vast body of teachings in the form of books, audio recordings, and video lectures. His teachings continue to have a global following, and his books are widely read. His philosophy often emphasized individualism, meditation, and the importance of living in the present moment.

Osho's teachings and legacy are a subject of ongoing debate and discussion. While he had a significant influence on spiritual seekers and his meditation techniques are still practiced today, his life and actions also remain a topic of controversy and scrutiny. Individuals interested in his teachings often explore his writings, lectures, and meditation techniques to gain insight into his unique approach to spirituality and self-realization.
